Blower Done Blowed

Thank you Jesus it has been such a cool spring. Our house, with the high ceilings stays really cool (like low 70s) until the afternoon. Thank you Jesus because our AC is about to bite the dust.

When we first started using it again it started freezing up. We had freon put in it, checked it for leaks and went on using it. Then it started freezing up again. My dad came over and cleaned the coils. And it's still freezing up. So we finally decided we're going to have to bite the bullet and buy a new one.

Ouch. Those suckers are expensive. But, the exact amount we've put into savings this year is the amount the AC unit will cost. How cool is that? We get a family discount because the guy whose doing it gets a lot of his work from my dad, so he said he owes my dad at least this much. So that is saving us somewhere around $1500.

Oh, and when the government takes over in 2010, plan on spending somewhere between 6 or 8K for the new, earth friendly, units. But don't worry, they will be offering government loans to help you out. Isn't that thoughtful of them?
