On our way back to Vegas from Grand Canyon we crossed over the Hoover Dam. Again, something you have to experience in person to get the full grandeur! Jordan did a little research about Lake Mead, which feeds HD, and found out the lake is at 48% capacity. It's predicted by 2020 Lake Mead will no longer exist, Vegas will not have any electricity (since it all comes from HD) or water and will cease to exist. So get there while you can, boys and girls, it'll be a thing of the past thanks to global warming!
This is the feeding side of the dam. They are building a bridge over it because right now it's just a very congested 2 lane road that drives over the top of the dam. You can kind of pick out a line of cars going across the top of the dam in this picture.
If you look waaaaaaaay down there, you will see cars lined up on the right side of the water.
The white on the rocks is where the water used to be.
Once we made it to Vegas we were exhausted (been up since 3:30, saw the GC and Hoover Dam, and drove 5 hours). It was quite a shell shock going from beautiful, serene GC to hustle and bustle Vegas. Let me just get this out in the open, make sure everyone is clear, Vegas is NOT kid friendly. That was apparent just driving down the strip, if you get my drift. It's incredibly crowded, like an adult version of Disney World really. We went to see one show, "O" by Cirque Du Soleil. It was pretty boring after the 18th time someone dove into the water. I prefer my La Nuba, 100%. Besides that we spent a lot of money on drinks and food (it's expensive out there and they get away with it, until previously said dam dries up) walked the strip and got lost in a couple upscale malls.

This is a bistro in the hotel Paris. It's directly across from Bellagio water show. It was probably my favorite part of our whole Vegas trip. I ate a ham and cheese crepe with red wine and savored every moment with my husband. If we go back to Vegas, this is a must. Love it.
This is our hotel room. Treasure Island was a nice hotel, not as nice as Bellagio or Paris, and I absolutely loved the room. The bed was so comfortable (king size!) it spoiled us for the rest of the trip. All other beds were compared to this one. One day I'll make a headboard similar to this when we get a king size bed.
